Penstemon 'Sour Grapes'

Blue purple flowers up to 80cm (32in) from June to September and growing 60cm (24in) wide. Prefers well drained soil in sun.

This is the earliest bearer of the rather confused 'Sour Grapes' name, originating in the 1930's from Washfield Nursery. Possibly a seedling selection of 'Stapleford Gem' but a more compact and bushy plant.
